Anoka Equine offers on-farm service for routine preventative maintenance procedures, investigation of health concerns and 24-hour emergency care. We maintain seven full service mobile units that cover the 40 mile radius around Elk River.
Routine procedures include vaccinations, deworming, maintenance dental care, health certificate and passport examinations, prepurchase exams and Coggins testing. In addition, many other health concerns can be evaluated while at the barn including: lameness, illness, reproductive issues, ophthalmic injuries and emergency situations such as colics and lacerations. Our veterinarians will evaluate your horse and administer the appropriate treatments and if deemed necessary, discuss with you the option of referring your horse to the clinic for more intensive care. We have a portable x-ray machine that can be used for conventional radiography in the field as well as portable ultrasound units that can be utilized for reproductive services. Some procedures commonly done in the field include: physical exam evaluation, administration of medications, laceration repair, superficial tumor removal, castrations, wound care, hoof injury and abscess care, joint injections and more. Our in-house laboratory allows our veterinarians to bring blood and other samples back to the clinic for quick results to expedite diagnosis and treatment options.
Our wellness program is also completed on the farm by our ambulatory vets to provide optimal preventitive care for your horse. For more information on this program click here.
Our emergency service is available 24 hours, 365 days per year.
