These images can have the ability to have brightness and contrast manipulated as well as enlarged to view small or subtle abnormalities. With this ability the doctors are able to measure angles and distances between bones to provide clear diagnoses of problem ranging from acute lameness to kissing spin. In addition, farrier radiographs provide information to the farrier on the angle of the bone in relation to the hoof wall to direct the way the farrier trims and shoes your horse.
