WELLNESS PROGRAM

For the 2010 Program we ask that clients are signed up by April 15, 2010

** Prices listed below**

Anoka Equine’s goal has always been to provide the highest quality health care for your horse. With this in mind, we are pleased to offer our wellness program to provide your horse with excellent preventative care for better health and performance. A routine health maintenance program is important for the overall well-being of your horse. Regularly scheduled vaccinations, deworming and dental care along with good nutrition and regular exercise will help keep your horse healthy and happy and improve performance. Preventing problems before they occur makes sense, and so does saving money. The Anoka Equine Wellness Program does both. The wellness program is a comprehensive program that packages the recommended routine health care for horses in the area at a greatly reduced cost. Not only does routine health care help prevent problems, but regular visits can help detect a minor problem before it becomes a larger, more expensive issue.

Three visits per year provide the basic physical exams, vaccinations, parasite control, dental care, Coggins testing, and nutritional counseling to help keep your horse healthy. For your convenience, our office will call to schedule the three visits in advance, and you will receive a reminder one week before each appointment. One doctor will be scheduled each day for a particular area to do only wellness work. This advanced scheduling will allow us to provide more timely appointments.

Owners may choose from one of two parasite control options – daily dewormer or bimonthly paste dewormer. This year, Anoka Equine will be doing fecal egg exams at each of the three visits. In one year, we hope to have more information about the parasites present in our area, as well as any resistance that may be present. This will help us better tailor our deworming program for our wellness participants. You will receive a year’s worth of dewormer for your horse at your first visit.

As an added benefit, the wellness program meets the requirements of the Pfizer PreventiCareTM program for those horses on the daily deworming schedule. The Pfizer PreventiCare™ program pays up to $5000 toward colic surgery should your horse ever need it. Please go to pfizerpreventicare.com for more details on this program.
