Dr. Robert D. Larocca, DVM, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists

We are thankful to have Dr. Robert Larocca, a board certified ophthalmologist, working with our clinic. Any equine ophthalmolic cases, which require more indepth treatment or surgery, are able to be seen by Dr. Larocca at our clinic on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Dr. Larocca received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Larocca then attended and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from the University of Florida. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota. Following the internship Dr. Larocca worked in a small animal practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Next he completed a three-year residency in veterinary ophthalmology at Auburn University and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and a board certified ophthalmologist.

Equine surgical services include:

• Surgical treatment of traumatic lesions (eyelid and corneal lacerations )
  
• Neoplasia (squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, sarcoids)

• Corneal diseases (ulcers, stromal abscesses, neoplasia, corneal grafting)
  
• Glaucoma (laser surgery),
• Cataracts (cataract surgical removal) and
• Tatooing.
